AI-supported, spectroscopic determination of the ageing of plastics during mechanical recycling

The project focuses on the development of a laser HSI system for the inline determination of the aging condition of selected plastics. The overall goal is to create AI-based spectroscopic methods that can accurately assess process-induced aging in plastics. These methods will be implemented in two pre-competitive demonstrators: a laser hyperspectral imaging (HSI) system and an inverse spectrometer. Together, these prototypes aim to provide advanced tools for real-time monitoring and analysis, contributing to a better understanding and management of plastic aging processes.
